Join us for the first NY Chapter professional development event of 2019. From consumer data breaches to election interference, from smart devices to behavioral tracking, data privacy is a concern which touches more and more parts of our lives.  Join us for a panel discussion with information professionals and privacy advocates about best practices, emerging standards, and changing cultural norms around securing personal data.

You will learn about:

  • Current library policies governing personal data
  • Best practices for patron data management
  • How to impart best practices to LIS students
  • Library dependency on 3rd party vendors who don't share practices/values
