The LLAGNY Outreach Programs Committee is pleased to present the following CLE program:

“You Can’t Ask Me That”: NYC’s New Salary History Law

Wednesday, May 30th 6:00-8:00 PM

Speakers: Jo Kaur (Agency Attorney with the New York City Commission on Human Rights) and Laura Ross (Reference Librarian and Digital Archivist at Touro Law Center)

Program Description: The subject of this CLE program is NYC’s new salary history law. Our first speaker, Jo Kaur, will discuss the background and substantive aspects of the law - how and why it was proposed, the gender pay gap, employer issues, how it compares with similar legislation in other cities and states, and how it will be enforced. Our second speaker, Laura Ross, will demonstrate how to locate the legislative history of NYC laws, with a special emphasis on the new law. She will also survey the various resources that are available through government websites, including guidance documents that will help attendees in understanding and interpreting the new law.
