In 2008 Bitcoin was introduced in a paper published by Satoshi Nakamoto as a mechanism to avoid the need for financial institutions in transfers of value. Blockchain is the technology that underlies bitcoin and other virtual currencies. This program will explore:

  • Introduction to blockchain technology and virtual currencies
  • How blockchain-based contracts differ from traditional legal contracts
  • How domestic and international governments are using blockchain to protect our information.
  • What resources are available to educate our attorneys and to keep us informed.
